Brigsby Bear

Brigsby Bear directed by Dave McCary and written by Kyle Mooney and Kevin Costello is a comedy drama movie. James (Kyle Mooney ) is the only person who watches Brigsby Bear. When the show is canceled his life starts to feel meaningless. He then goes on an adventure to finish the show.
Brigsby bear is such a unique film. It has a touching story that is easy to connect with. The story might be a little cheesy for some. The quirkiness of James is the main source of our comedy and works well. There are some jokes that do get repeated and lose their laughs.
Nothing besides the unique story is outstanding, but everything is decent. This is definitely a movie not enough people saw. With a touching story and a lot of comedy I do recommend this movie to mostly everyone.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor directed by Rob Cohen is an action adventure movie.  Emperor (Jet Li) is the Emperor of china and wants immortality. He finds a witch ZI Yuan (Michelle Yeoh) who says she has the power to give him immortality. Instead of giving him immortality she curses him and his army. Centuries later we have Alex O’Connell (Luke Ford), son of famous Rick (Brendan Fraser) and Evelyn (Maria Bello)  O’Connell, looking for the Emperor’s tomb. When the tomb is found the Emperor is brought back to life and the O’Connell family must team up to stop him from bringing his army back to life and ruling the world.
This movie is filled with terrible aspects. It is filled with awful, unnecessary dialogue. For example at the end of the movie Evelyn says “Kiss me” to Rick. Instead of just doing it he says “Don’t have to ask me twice”. The movie is filled with these awkward responses that serve no real purpose in the movie. The movie also has problems with what it is trying to be. It isn’t action packed enough to be a good action movie, and the comedy is so poor it doesn't work as a comedy either. An example of the poor comedy is Jonathan's ass gets set on fire and he tells Rick to “Spank my ass”.
The movie is also filled with unnatural conflicts just so there can be some resolution at the end. Such as both Rick and Evelyn have apparently promised to not do anymore adventures even though they both obviously want to. They have this just so at the end both can say they want to keep doing adventures. I think this is supposed to makes us feel happy that they are going to do what makes them happy, but this conflict came out of nowhere and was so stupid I felt nothing. It has a lot of moments where it will put or characters in danger, but will get them out of it in the most impossible way. Half way through this movie you stop caring about them being in danger because you know none of them will be hurt. It also has terrible CGI which should have not happened with its 145 million dollar budget.
In conclusion everything about this movie was bad, it is not worth your time. It was very boring and I did not have fun at all while watching it. There are no redeeming qualities about this movie. It lost all of the charm the first two movies had and I don’t recommend this movie to anyone.

Paterson

Paterson, directed and written by Jim Jarmusch, is a slow, effective drama with comedy sprinkled throughout. Paterson is about a week in the life of a bus driver named Paterson (Adam Driver) who writes poetry in his spare time. He is an average joe who is not an expressive person. Even when he is happy sometimes all you will get is a faint smile. He lives with his girlfriend Laura (Golshifteh Farahani) who is filled with optimism and passion to fulfill her dreams. She has a love for the world and for trying new things. She is the opposite of Paterson, every action she does is expressive.
Paterson is an excellently told story. It is slower than most movies but that is what makes the story work so well. We follow Paterson for a week and have time to study him. In this time we start to connect with him. We connect with him because he is an ordinary guy like most of us. The dialogue feels natural, and that mixed with the amazing chemistry between our two leads really makes you believe they are a couple. The whole story feels real. Adam Driver does a phenomenal job acting, he doesn’t have a lot of dialogue so it relies on his ability to express emotion with facial expressions. (Laura) also does a great job at her characters passion for life. She is always bursting with happiness.
In conclusion everything about this movie is great. There are a lot of beautiful shots in this movie. The directing is great, we never have a pointless or boring scene. Every scene moves the story or brings us closer emotionally to Paterson. With an exceptional cast, and story I am left in love with Paterson. If slow movies don’t bother you I highly recommend Paterson
